Okay, I'm sold! Now what?
Congratulations! You are about to join the illustrious ranks of published authors. There are a few details to deal with, then we can get started.
1. Choose your package.
We have designed our packages to allow you to choose the services that you need, and that fit your budget, without having to wade through a lot of technical jargon and information you don't really want to know. Since we are taking care of the publishing end of it, you can concentrate on being an author, and probably working on your next book. Each package gives you specific advantages, and you can upgrade at any time. Of course, it is better to choose the package that is right for you at the beginning, since there is a slight cost increase when upgrading from one package to another.
2. Send us your file(s) with the payment.
For the main part of your book, you have the option of sending us a text file (we accept WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, Open Office, plain text, and rtf formats) or, if you have chosen this option, an Adobe Acrobat file prepared to our specifications. (For the "Basic" package, we are able to accept only PDF files).
If you don't have a word processor, other than the one that came with your computer, and you have Internet access, you can download FREE office software from http://www.openoffice.org. If you don't have Internet access, for a nominal copying fee we can send you a CD with this FREE program on it.
If you have the artwork for your cover already scanned, you can email the file to us and we can print it. We prefer TIFF or EPS formats, but we may be able to use your jpg or png files. In any case, we will give you the minimum specifications in advance. If it isn't scanned yet, mail your original artwork to us, insured, or an excellent copy, and we will take care of the rest.
3. National Library registration.
If you have chosen one of the marketing packages, we will need some basic biographical information to register your book with the National Library. This information will be used only for that purpose, and not divulged to any party other than the registering agencies.
4. Receive your books.
Within one to two weeks, barring delivery service interruptions, you will receive your book proof. After reviewing it, and making any corrections on your FREE correction sheet, you will send the book back to us. We will quickly make the corrections and print your book. In just a few weeks, you will have the finished copies to do with as you will.
5. Be ready to reorder!
Depending on the quantity you purchased with your package, you will probably run out of books very quickly. No problem! You can reorder more of your books at any time. If you have chosen one of the marketing packages, you may also be selling books on the Internet without having to touch a book! If we handle a book sale for you, you will receive payment for that sale without ever having to handle or sell the book yourself.
